Why do you believe this tree should be selected as the winner in this category?

Each day on my way to school I passed a lone tree that stands on the UC (University College) hill at the University of Western Ontario. During this time I saw the tree go through several transitions as the seasons changed. It was amazing. It lead me to believe that this tree was magical. This inspired me to create a cake in that image. It was a challenge to find materials that I could use to create a free standing tree. However, with some perseverance, I found a way. I first baked a cake for the base. Then, I made a tree base by molding some rice crispies and marshmallows. Next, I prepared some fondant like material out of icing, marshmallows and die for colour. I then covered the cake with the fondant and added some sprinkles, and chocolate rocks (etc.) for decoration.

Voila, a tree cake! enjoy! ^^
