Why do you believe this tree should be selected as the winner in this category?

Most all admire the big, the strong and the beautiful.
But let’s not forget the new and growing…
In a new development, like we see a lot in London, it’s rare to find a tree. I could not wait to plant a tree in front of our new home. A tree is worth more to me than any other element of landscaping, shrubs, bushes or flowers just don’t compare to a tree. In the spring of 2007, before most any other trees were planted on our street, we planted our tree and promptly took a picture of me next to it happily expecting our third child. Life, growth, and potential shown side by side. Together in one great shot: a perfect new tree beside a perfect new pregnancy together in one picture.
In May of 2011, my life almost stopped upon hearing of the diagnosis of this same child. We found out our child had the serious illness called leukemia. The great London team of doctors came to the rescue. I love London!
What a great moment: I took my small but strong child, now bald with cancer treatments, to see the nest with cute finches in the beautiful tree. More life can be witnessed in our young tree.
Small, new, and full of potential - growing strong and full of life each day. This is my tree. And this is my child. I love them both. They will be around for a long, long time.
