Why do you believe this tree should be selected as the winner in this category?
When I photographed this "tree" in May of 2003, it appeared to be thriving. Since revisiting the tree last week, the stress of urban life seems to be getting the best of my tree. But I think it exemplifies the ability of most trees to push back against the obstacles thrown at them.
The green foliage and the iron "trunk" plays with our definition of what constitutes a "tree" but I firmly believe this one qualifies as such.
