Two community-minded MTC Partners teamed up for a big promotion of tree planting and London’s Million Tree Challenge, Forest City Road Races and Bentley Hearing Services. FCRR Race Director, Steve Ryall, again committed to getting the word and the trees out for a big seedling giveaway to race registrants and got Bentley Hearing Services to sponsor the 1000 seedling giveaway.
The seedling giveaway is always popular at the Forest City Road Races. “I love spending time outdoors and I participated in planting trees that were handed out at a previous Forest City Road Race,” said Barb Bentley, Owner of Bentley Hearing Services. “I loved the idea, and was happy to participate in helping make London greener.”
This year was the 35th year of the Forest City Road Races and the biggest yet. “We sold out for the first time, setting a record of 2500 runners,” said Steve Ryall. “It was the largest running event ever in London!
Barb Bentley discussed why they decided to sponsor the giveaway, “Our primary goal was to support Thames Valley Children’s Centre and the opportunity to sponsor the seedling giveaway was presented to us. As this year was a year of growth for Bentley Hearing Services, it seemed fitting for us to promote growth of the trees.”
The seedling giveaway to race registrants has been part of the Forest City Road Races since 2012 and is a great way to promote London’s Million Tree Challenge.
“As an avid runner, I spend a lot of time in our park system,” said Barb Bentley, “We are blessed to have such lovely green spaces in London. Having green spaces for Londoners to use is important, as staying active promotes a healthy lifestyle which is very important to us. Our practice believes that hearing is what connects individuals to the people in their life, and it is our job to help people stay connected.”

About London Life Forest City Road Races
The Forest City Road Races celebrated 35 years on April 30, 2017! All proceeds raised go toward the Thames Valley Children’s Centre. There are several types of races you can enter: the fun run, 5k, 10k and the 21k all starting and finishing at Victoria Park. Some of the perks include: a finishers medal – in the shape of a different tree each year so you can collect a ‘forest,’ the virtual race bag, personalized race bibs and a tech shirt.
About Bentley Hearing Services
Bentley Hearing Services was started in April 2006 with one audiologist. Since then they have expanded to four audiologists and have clinics at 460 Springbank Drive and 1807 Wonderland Rd. N. They are a full service hearing clinic and provide services including hearing tests, auditory processing evaluations, wax removal, fitting of custom hearing protection, prescription and fitting of hearing aids and other assistive devices, cleaning and repairing of hearing aids, and provision of aural rehabilitation classes.
