Marketing and Fundraising Project Coordinator

ReForest London engages individuals, groups and businesses in planting and caring for trees in neighbourhoods and natural areas throughout London. We are seeking a Marketing and Fundraising Project Coordinator to plan, develop and implement two new initiatives of ReForest London: an Earth Day initiative, and a Commemorative Tree Program.

Ontario Job Creation Partnerships (JCP) is an employment program provided by Employment Ontario. To participate, you must be unemployed and meet one of the following conditions: have established a claim for Employment Insurance benefits or that the Employment Insurance benefit period ended within the past three years; or established a claim for Employment Insurance maternity or parental benefits and were paid benefits within the past five years, and are re-entering the labour force after having left it to care for newborn or newly adopted children.

Pay is $423 a for a 35-hour work week, or $20,727 annually, which is the equivalent of EI benefits.

Duties:

  • Work with Executive Director, staff, committees, and Board of Directors to design two new programs to raise awareness and expand donor base of ReForest London.
  • Develop project plans with timelines, deliverables and due dates.
  • Develop strategy and copy and work with professional designers to create marketing materials.
  • Approach and recruit local corporations with sponsorship and partnering opportunities. Maintain positive relationships with all partners and sponsors.
  • Plan and implement website and social marketing campaign for both initiatives.
  • Create fulfillment materials for programs, and ensure all acknowledgements to partners, sponsors, and donors are made.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all program- related details, donors, and partners.
  • Evaluate success of program implementation and recommend improvements for ongoing management

Skills Required:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and implementation skills,
  • Excellent computer skills with Word, Excel, Windows Mail and web browsing tools. Ability to learn new programs as required. Knowledge of Photoshop and QuickBooks a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Ability to multi-task several projects.
  • Creative thinker who can turn ideas into plans and plans into action.
  • Flexible hours and access to vehicle.

Education Required:
Four year liberal arts or marketing degree preferred. High school graduation required.
