Position: Office Administrator

ReForest London is a registered charity determined to make our community better through the many
environmental and human health benefits of trees. We work to get more trees planted in all corners o four city, in parks, in yards, in schools and at businesses. We are also at the start of an exciting newproject to create an Environment and Sustainability Centre for London. While we are a small team, we are energetic, passionate and we punch above our weight. Our workplace and workstyle is flexible. Position Summary
This newly created position will work very closely directly with the Executive Director and take on many administrative tasks formerly done by the ED. The position is administrative in nature and will support several core functions of the organization.The main areas of responsibility are 

  • Financial administration (this is a main focus area)
  • Office and Facilities Management
  • HR administrative support
  • Donation administration
  • Supporting the ED and the Board of Directors

You will interact daily with every member of our small team. You will work very closely with the
Executive Director. Your good humour, team focus, and passion for our environmental mission will see you through the highs and lows of our non-profit world. You will also deal with outside service
contractors, Board Directors and other volunteers, making your professionalism and friendly attitude
key to your success.

This is a 0.8 FTE (4 days/week) permanent position with a salary range of $19.50-$21.00/hour with two weeks of paid vacation per year. You also receive additional paid leave between Christmas and NewYear as we close the office. We are a flexible workplace. If this position is right up your alley and you need an adjustment to daily working hours, to work the 4 days over 5 days or need to work 5 days some weeks and 3 others, or even really only want to work 3 days, we should still talk.


  • A degree or diploma in administrative studies, finance, office management, or related field
  • Proven financial administration abilities, with QuickBooks familiarity being an advantage
  • Two to three years practical experience executing multiple office support processes
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word and Excel, and some form of database


  • Management of facilities and contractors
  • Experience within a non-profit organization
  • Experience as a volunteer

  • Make this new role a game-changer for the Executive Director by being a critical thinker, an excellent judge of issues and a problem solver
  • Have excellent financial skills which allow you to manage all our internal handling of expenses
    and revenues, manage our external bookkeeping service, and support all staff with excellent
    financial analysis and reporting
  • Love keeping processes and documentation highly organized and functioning easily
  • Be happy to undertake, and not stressed out by, any new tasks and challenges that inevitably
  • Have demonstrated diligence and attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Enjoy office potlucks

Position: Communications Coordinator

Organization: ReForest London
Location: London, ON

ReForest London is a non-profit organization dedicated to partnering with our community to enhance environmental and human health in the Forest City, through the benefits of trees. 

Through Canada Summer Jobs, a 12 -16 week job placement program, the Communications Coordinator will report to the Partnerships and Marketing Manager to assist with communications, social media content, graphic design, events, and partner & volunteer development.

We are looking for a student who can effectively develop and produce various communications materials including social media content as well as assist in ongoing communications initiatives to engage the public, partners, volunteers and the media.


  • Current university or college student returning to school in the fall in one of the following fields of  study: Communications, Media Studies, Public Relations or Marketing. 
  • 30 years of age or under
  • Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred and legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial regulations


  • Experience in communications, customer service, marketing, and public relations
  • Experience working in a non-profit environment is an asset

Required Skills

  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strategic thinker
  • Social media experience including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Photography/Video skills
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign & Photoshop)
  • Knowledge of tree species and desire to work for an environmental organization preferred
  • Diplomatic, tactful, professional, punctual
  • Ability to lift trees and equipment (30lbs)


  • Create and schedule social media content
  • Develop a Million Tree Challenge progress report to the community
  • Assist with outreach to partners and volunteers
  • Assist with development and implementation of partner/donor stewardship materials
  • Assist with ongoing marketing, communications and fundraising initiatives
  • Assist with events – some weekend work required
  • Other duties as assigned

This is a full-time, 30 hours per week position lasting from 12-16  weeks this summer through Canada Summer Jobs. Pay is $14.10/hour.
