Join us on a short 1.5km seed collection walk along a mix of paved multi-use trails and long grass trails though Celebration Forest. Learn about seed collection best practices and how our naturalization projects can be enhanced by growing trees and plants well adapted to our region. Then get your hands dirty and try seed collection for yourself! Following the walk we will begin the first steps of seed preparation, washing and sorting seed for storage prior to planting.
This event is child-friendly so bring the whole family for the fun!
Note: Celebration forest contains long grasses and some steep hills, long pants and sturdy footwear are highly recommended.
This event is the rain date for the Seed Collection Hike that was postponed on October 3.
This free event is being offered as a part of the Signal Boost Initiative, which was made possible with support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
