The environment and nature is fundamental to existence, it’s ubiquitous, and it’s always awe-inspiring. Starting as a Boy Scout, Dean was hooked on the environment, and he has been motivated to appreciate it, protect it and restore it ever since. Keen on a Business degree, Dean couldn’t quite let go of the environment so he earned undergraduate degrees in both Business Administration and Environmental Studies. Now, with almost 30 years in various business, environmental and consulting roles, and interests in ecological health, social justice, urban planning and city building, Dean’s leadership, critical analysis and strategic skills are amplified by the magic power of a tree to make a hyperlocal, direct positive impact.
Dean also teaches in the Masters of Environment and Sustainability at Western University and has served his community as the London Transit Commission director, through various advisory committees for the City of London, and by founding roles in two environmental organizations.
Being active in making his community a better place for today and for tomorrow is a hobby and a passion. Dean is driven by the immense potential of a healthier and more equitable world. That potential is real, the best future is real. It’s a joy to work in an organization that is chasing it – every day.
