Gilda is joining the ReForest London team as the Volunteer and Event Management Assistant. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Development Studies with a certificate in Business from the University of Guelph, and is currently pursuing a Diploma in Not-for-Profit Management at Western University. Through her undergraduate studies and volunteer work with various non-profit organizations, Gilda found a passion for community engagement and helping others. She also discovered her love for travel and biodiversity across the world.
Gilda is excited to continue her journey in non-profit work by being a part of the Reforest London team because she believes caring for the environment is the first step to a flourishing community. She joined because she wanted to learn more about what she can do to improve the environment, and she strives to inspire others within the community to do so too.
Gilda believes that we can begin to address environmental issues in London through community engagement in environmental organizations, on-going education, and empowerment! She also believes that individuals taking those first steps, including herself, will lead to a more sustainable London where everyone works together to learn, grow, and advocate for a more sustainable and healthier environment.
During her free time, Gilda loves travelling, hiking, baking, and visiting local markets.
Gilda’s favourite trees are sugar maples.
