Kaki supports the effective delivery of a number of ReForest London programs and events. She works with community volunteers to plant and care for trees, and ensures that they have a positive and fun experience at our events. As a newcomer to Canada, Kaki is excited to learn more about trees and to encounter local invasive species in person so she can then help to create a more sustainable London.
Kaki believes that climate change poses major risks and negative impacts to the health and wellbeing of Londoners. In order to tackle this urgent environmental challenge, Kaki believes that increasing our green spaces plays a key role. Trees are vital and not only give life, but also improve our livelihoods. In the next 50 years, Kaki expects that London will be one of the greenest and most resilient cities in Canada, as people are working together to keep the community safe and healthy.
During her free time, you will find Kaki taking a nap in the grass under the beautiful warm sun, exploring some local hikes, and having some good food with friends and family.
Kaki’s favourite tree is the 540-year-old Comfort Maple tree.
