How well does your child connect with the environment? Survey Information

ReForest London has designed the Seeds to Forest program, sponsored by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Seeds to Forest is a program for kids in grades Kindergarten to Grade 8, to learn about trees and their impact on the local environment through series of educational activities, hands-on, at-home activities. Some activities are designed to be done independently by kids, while others can be done with the help of an adult. Activiters include;

  • activity worksheets focused on nature and the environment
  • simple tree identification
  • backyard DIY soil testing
  • invasive species activities
As a part of our program, ReForest London would like to survey participating children. The purpose of this survey is to assess your child's connection with and understanding of nature, before and after participating in our program.

These survey results are shared with our funder, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, so that they may better understand how programs across Ontario help individuals connect with the environment.

You and your child will be asked to fill out a survey which includes rating six statements and filling in optional demographic information, and takes about 5 minutes to complete.

We ask that your child completes the survey once before starting the program, and again at the end of the program. We will send you a reminder link when our program finishes this summer to do the survey again.

Prticipate in the survey HERE .

There are no known risks to participating in this survey.  The survey has been designed to protect your child’s privacy, and no names are included on the survey.  No child will ever be mentioned by name in a report of the results.  Your child will get no immediate benefit from taking part in the survey, however, the results of this survey will be used to improve our program and help ReForest London design new initiatives aimed at helping people understand and connect with nature. The results will also be aggregated with results from other environmental organizations provincially to help assess program outcomes.
