Canada Day 2026

Let’s keep our forests, Canadian.

This Canada Day, we are celebrating the Carolinian forest and the species that make it uniquely Canadian.

Since time immemorial, First Nations peoples have cared for these fertile lands, helping rich and diverse ecosystems thrive. However, within 200 years of colonization, more than 80% of the Carolinian forest was lost.

The Carolinian forest covers less than 1% of Canada’s land area but supports more than 70 native tree species. This makes Southern Ontario one of the most biologically diverse regions in the country.

Widespread land clearing caused significant soil erosion. In response, the Carolinian Canada Coalition was established in 1984 to help protect this unique habitat. Today, the Carolinian Life Zone is home to more endangered and rare species than any other life zone in Canada.

At ReForest London, we are committed to growing, planting, and sharing native Carolinian species with local communities. Through this work, we help support healthy, species-rich ecosystems.

Help Us Grow 120 Trees in 72 Hours

For three days only, from July 1 to July 3, we are inviting our community to help grow 120 trees in just 72 hours.

When we raise $3,000, our programs can support the growth of 120 new trees.

Donate today and help grow and plant the native species that make our forests uniquely Canadian.
