Project type: Neighbourhood Re-Leaf
Year: 2019
Season: Fall
What an exciting afternoon we had! Our first Tree Depot of the fall season kicked off at the new Fanshawe College South Campus on Friday, September 6th. Similar to our spring Wildlife Tree Depot, we gave out a selection of native species with high ecological value. We carefully selected native trees that produce fruit and nut foods as well as provide shelter that support local wildlife.
It was a busy afternoon as people lined up in the rain to receive their trees. Almost 170 native trees found new homes! We are thrilled to see that the wildlife theme is popular with so many people.
A big thank you goes out to the City of London’s Tree Me Tree Matching Fund and the WWF Go Wild Community Grant for funding this event and improving habitats across our city. And, thank you to our host Fanshawe College! We wish you well for the upcoming school year!
