Volunteer Spotlight – May 2018

Name: Ester Landreville
Roles: Finance Committee, Office Assistant
Volunteer since: May 2017

About Ester: I was born in Penticton B.C., but was raised in Sarnia where I attended Lambton College to pursue an accounting diploma. After my college studies, I relocated to London and further pursued an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree with Laurentian University as well as a Certified General Accountant designation (now known as a Chartered Professional Accountant), which I earned in 2011. I started my own public accounting practice in September 2012.

Why Ester volunteers with ReForest London: I love what the organization stands for, including projects that are currently underway, such as the Million Tree Challenge. I initially became interested in volunteering when I attended a local horticultural event (as I love gardening) and one of the guest speakers was a RFL volunteer. He was very passionate about the organization and mentioned that they were looking for office volunteers and that one of the incentives to join was the office location — an office with a view (essentially in the middle of a forest). This really appealed to me and I decided to join to learn more about this incredible organization!
