Roofing for Trees!

Project type: Million Tree Challenge

Year: 2021

Million Tree Challenge Partners, Alvarez Roofing Solutions Inc., gave back to their community, making London leafier, through a tree sponsorship. It is a simple, straight forward way of making a difference and actively participating in London’s Million Tree Challenge. For each roofing job they do, they sponsor a tree to be planted by ReForest London.

Husband and wife team, Ashley and Freddy, feel strongly about helping to make their home town greener for the future. “We loved growing up in the Forest City,” said Ashley Alvarez-Yates. “As we became adults, we noticed a lot of the “forest” leaving our City, but we weren’t sure how to help. As business owners, we wanted to make a living doing something we love, but we also wanted to make a positive change in our community. So when we were deciding on a local charitable organization to contribute to, ReForest London was a great fit for us! We love the multiple ways we can get involved and our clients are always surprised and delighted that by choosing us as their roofing company, they are also helping our local community become leafier again.”

Winners of the HomeStars Best of Award for 2021, Alvarez Roofing Solutions are also concerned with being more environmentally friendly with their business and offer clients choice in that area. “Malarkey Roofing Products are our top choice for shingle and roofing accessories,” said Ashley, “they offer high performance, sustainable roofing shingles, engineered with 3M rubberized asphalt technology, upcycled tires and pollution reducing granules. As Certified Emerald Pro Contractors, we are able to provide our customers with a 20 year warranty coverage for additional peace of mind.”

Practical and impactful over time, this commitment to sponsoring a tree for every job is something that other businesses also find is a great way to give back to the environment. Thank you Alvarez Roofing Solutions for supporting tree planting in London through your partnership in the Million Tree Challenge!
