Tree Aftercare Assistant

As a Tree Aftercare Assistant, you’ll help ensure the survival and health of our newly planted trees. This involves maintaining an optimal growing environment for them, as well as providing protection from harmful weeds and animal pests. Any necessary equipment (gloves, spades, scissors, and pruning tools) will be made available, but please bring your own if you have them.

Responsibilities & Time Commitment

  • Weeding
  • Mulching
  • Checking Tree Collars
  • Invasive Species Removal
  • Applying Scoot
  • Pruning
  • Litter Clean Up

Time Commitment: Events are typically 1.5-2 hours long on weeknights or Saturday mornings during the summer months of July and August.

Training

No training required. We will provide training at the start of every aftercare event, so please arrive on time.

Experience

No previous experience required.

Skills

No skills required.

Other Requirements

  • Capable of lifting mulch buckets (~20 pounds)
  • Able to work in dirty conditions
