Shaquille joins the ReForest London team as the Signal Boost Initiative Coordinator. In this role, Shaquille works with London’s environmental organizations to provide environmental learning and skill development opportunities for Londoners. ReForest London is a perfect fit for Shaquille as it merges Shaquille’s educational background, experience in coaching and tutoring, and love for the outdoors.
He graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Studies with a pre-clinical specialization and minor in psychology. It is here where Shaquille gained an interest in holistic health and the role of nature. Shaquille is currently completing his Masters in Capacity Development and Extension at the University of Guelph.
Shaquille believes that a major way to address environmental issues in London is by meeting people where they are. From experience, Shaquille has learned that sustainability and learning about the environment are marathons, not sprints, and change comes from the compounding bits of information that we gather and grow to make a larger difference.
Shaquille has always had a love for the outdoors, and in his spare time, you will find Shaquille camping, hiking or immersing himself in football.
His favourite trees are Chippewa White Pine and Chinese Dogwood
