Volunteer Spotlight – March 2023

Name: Suze Belleville
Volunteer Since: 2015
Roles: Planting Leader, Community Tree Specialist, Community Liaison, Events Committee Member, and more!

As someone who lives in London and participates in many volunteer roles within the community, I find myself constantly drawn back to Reforest London. It has been a great experience being a part of the changing landscape of London by planting trees and educating people about the benefits of having native trees in our surroundings. It all started with planting a tree in my own backyard and then helping my neighbours plant a variety of native trees. Eventually, I became more socially active and started spreading information about trees to the public.

I love being outdoors and experiencing nature, especially with all the different kinds of trees surrounding us. I particularly enjoy helping out with events such as Celebration Forest, You, Me, and Half-a-Million-Trees, and tree depots, as people are always so excited and happy to receive trees. Volunteering with Reforest has also given me the opportunity to meet a lot of new people, both at events and among fellow volunteers, and I have even made some long-lasting friendships.

I look forward to future events and getting together with my fellow volunteers to continue making London a greener and more beautiful place.

Thank you, Suze!
